  1. Unit 2 Market Research Assignment • It is due this Friday, April 4 and Monday, April 7. • Do not do step 5. If you do it, then I will give you bonus marks. • We will present this assignment. • 6-10 minutes.

  2. Tips for Market Research Assignment • Objective: can be creative. For example, you have to decide one of the two products because your retail display space is limited. • Write the questions, which will achieve your objectives. • Use simple, everyday words • State questions in a clear and specific manner. • Start with a simple question and end with a more difficult, specific question. • Encourage respondents to give additional information that may enhance the quality of their remarks.

  3. Schedule for product testing The following groups will do product testing on Tuesday and do the presentation on Friday: • Mahruck, Rumla, Kevin • Rewa, Jennifer, courtney • Julia M, Samantha, Darby • Karmen, Azhar, Jinwae, Sam M • Josh and Daniel • Stephan, Murphy, Roohulah, Jadon

Schedule for product testing • If you do not do the product testing or presentation on your scheduled date, then you will get 10% deduction. • Remember that your group members will evaluate your contribution. • You will get zero if all your group members tell me that you did not do any of your part.

Market Research • Exploratory Research • Preliminary research • It clarifies the scope and nature of the marketing problem. • It identifies “what is the problem?” • More conclusive research will follow soon. • For example, Dairy Farmers noticed that milk consumption was declining every year. So they wanted to identify what the problem is by doing exploratory research. • The questions will be “why do you drink only 250mL everyday?”
