Dose comparison

A recent study on ECG dose modulation utilizing 16-slice MDCT with retrospective ECG-gating revealed a significant 47% reduction in radiation dose during CT coronary angiography. The average effective doses measured were 8.1 mSv for males and 10.9 mSv for females without modulation, and reduced to 4.3 mSv for males and 5.6 mSv for females with tube current modulation. This research highlights the effectiveness of dose modulation techniques in minimizing radiation exposure during cardiac imaging, showcasing the potential for improved patient safety.
