  2. Jesus feeds the 4 thousand • Jesus talks about the yeast of Pharisees and of Herod • Healing of a blind man at Bethsaida • Peter’s confession of Christ • Jesus talks about how one can follow him

  3. A) Jesus Feeds the Four Thousand Mark 8: 1-3. During those days another large crowd gathered. Since they had nothing to eat, Jesus called his disciples to him and said, 2 “I have compassion for these people; they have already been with me three days and have nothing to eat. 3 If I send them home hungry, they will collapse on the way, because some of them have come a long distance.” • Jesus was not only compassionate toward the Spiritualneeds, but also Social needsof the people. That is the impactof the power of the gospel – Evangelism and Socialconcern(social service and social action)

  4. A) Jesus Feeds the Four Thousand • Can we Pray every dayas if the political responsibility is on our shoulders? • Can we make a decision to vote to the right person? • Can we advocate others to use their votingprivilege and vote for the right person? • Can we promote the need for firm standing on the moral ethics? • Can we Share the gospel to someone as a Matter of fact? B) Jesus talks about the Yeastof the Pharisees & of the Herodians

  5. C) Healing of a blind man at Bethsaida - (V22 – 25) 22And they came to Bethsaida. And some people brought to him a blind man and begged him to touch him. 23 And he took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the village, and when he had spit on his eyes and laid his hands on him, he asked him, “Do you see anything?” 24 And he looked up and said, “I see people, but they look like trees, walking.”25 Then Jesus[c] laid his hands on his eyes again; and he opened his eyes, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly.

  6. Peter’s confession of Christ (V:27-30) 27And Jesus went on with his disciples to the villages of Caesarea Philippi. And on the way he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that I am?” 28 And they told him, “John the Baptist; and others say, Elijah; and others, one of the prophets.” 29 And he asked them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered him, “You are the Christ.” 30 And he strictly charged them to tell no one about him • Do I know Jesus as the God of my life? Do I have that deep conviction?

  7. Jesus talks about how one can follow him (V:27-31) 34And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, he said to them, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. 35 For whoever would save his life[d]will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel's will save it. 36 For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul? 37 For what can a man give in return for his soul? 38 For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him will the Son of Man also be ashamed when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.”

  8. Mark 8 : 34 – 38 – Amplified Bible34And Jesus called [to Him] the throng with His disciples and said to them, If anyone intends to come after Me, let him deny himself [forget, ignore, disown, and [o]lose sight of himself and his own interests] and take up his cross, and [[p]joining Me as a disciple and siding with My party] follow [q]with Me [continually, cleaving steadfastly to Me].35 For whoever wants to save his [[r]higher, spiritual, eternal] life, will lose it [the [s]lower, natural, temporal life [t]which is lived only on earth]; and whoever gives up his life [which is lived only on earth] for My sake and the Gospel’s will save it [his [u]higher, spiritual life [v]in the eternal kingdom of God]. 36For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his life [[w]in the eternal kingdom of God]?37 For what can a man give as an exchange ([x]a compensation, a ransom, in return) for his [blessed] life [[y]in the eternal kingdom of God]?38 For whoever [z]is ashamed [here and now] of Me and My words in this adulterous (unfaithful) and [pre-eminently] sinful generation, of him will the Son of Man also be ashamed when He comes in the glory (splendour and majesty) of His Father with the holy angels.
