  3. What is a Drug? • A drug is any chemical that produces a therapeutic or non-therapeutic effect in the body. • Chemicals, on the other hand, are a broad class of substances -- including drugs -- that may or may not produce noticeable effects in the body. Many chemicals (such as tin, lead, gold) have harmful effects on the body, especially in high doses.

  4. Marijuana • Someone who smokes marijuana regularly may have daily cough and phlegm, symptoms of chronic bronchitis, and more frequent chest colds. • Continuing to smoke marijuana can lead to abnormal functioning of lung tissue injured or destroyed by marijuana smoke. • Regardless of the THC content, the amount of tar inhaled by marijuana smokers and the level of carbon monoxide absorbed are three to five times greater than among tobacco smokers.

  5. Crystal Meth • Crystal's dangerous effects include an over stimulation of the body's adrenal glands, giving a temporary high • The crystal user will experience hyper activity and inability to properly sleep and laziness. • Crystal users may appear 'normal' for many years of use, but the hidden affects of methamphetamine are building up

  6. Cocaine • Crack and cocaine users have died from overdose. High doses can raise the body's temperature, cause convulsions and respiratory arrest. • Perfectly fit, young people can have a fit or heart attack after taking too much coke. • People who use crack or coke regularly often develop serious problems with anxiety and paranoia. It's a known cause of panic attacks
