Current Status • A working group has been created to help develop the ERS. • Business requirements and process flows are being defined. • Consultations will take place in a near future with stakeholders, including BCCC Export sub-committee members
Next Steps • Risk Assessment Component • Expected Implementation by 2014 • Start development by implementing the risk assessment components in the upcoming year. • Create referral and examination processes similar to import. • The ERS will leverage existing risk assessment components developed for eManifest.
Next Steps • Data Acquisition • Export data will be transmitted to the CBSA by exporters and carriers utilizing the eManifest Portal • Replaces CAED • Expected implementation: 2014 • Enterprise Portal • Replaces the eManifest portal • Expected implementation: 2015
Key Messages • The CBSA helps Canada maintain its reputation as a reliable trading partner: • the exporting community benefits from this relationship through the enhanced access to trade opportunities. • The implementation of risk assessment and examination processes will facilitate the export of goods determined to be low risk and allow the Agency to focus its efforts on high risk commodities, thereby protecting this relationship.
