AES Exemption Statement • Proper Exemption Reporting can keep your shipments from being delayed • Clear and Complete on the first page of the BOL, AWB or other loading documentation • No difference between Option 2 and Option 3 Exemptions • NDR AES Filer ID - Shipment Reference # Example: NDR AES 222256789 - HOU12345

Carrier Code and Transportation Reference Number • SCAC and Booking Number should be the Carrier moving the Cargo out of the U.S. • AES matches on the Ocean Booking Number • SCAC and Booking of the NVOCC is acceptable • *U, *C, *F for unknown air carriers • *M for unknown Mexican Trucking Companies

Transshipment of Exports through CANADA • Exports to other countries through Canada require reporting • MOT - The method the cargo crosses the US/Canadian border • Port of Export - The port at the border where the cargo crosses • Carrier Name - The carrier name and SCAC/IATA moving the cargo across the border • Unlicensed Exports to Canada do not require an SED or AES transmission

  12. Suggested Reporting Limits • One Header and one Trailer per Transmission • 99 Exporters per Header • 99 Shipments per Exporter • 999 Lines per Shipment • Exceeding these limits will slow down you and everyone else
