Act 5. By: Andrea Paczkowski, Madalyn Story, Katie Wilmes, and Kailyn Phelps. Scene 1. Characters in Scene 1. Romeo- He is in love with Juliet and is willing to give his life for her. Balthasar - Romeo’s servant that brings him bad news. Apothecary- The guy who sales mortal drugs.

  2. Scene 1

  3. Characters in Scene 1 • Romeo- He is in love with Juliet and is willing to give his life for her. • Balthasar- Romeo’s servant that brings him bad news. • Apothecary- The guy who sales mortal drugs.

  4. Setting • A street in Mantua.

  5. Summarization • Balthasar brings Romeo bad news about Juliet’s death. Romeo is so emotional that he goes to the apothecary to by fatal drugs that will kill him instantly.

  6. Scene 2

  7. Characters in Scene 2 • Friar Laurence- The priest that married Romeo and Juliet. He came up with the plan to get Romeo and Juliet to run away together. • Friar John- He was the one who Friar Laurence sent to Mantua to deliver the letter to Romeo.

  8. Setting • Friar Laurence’s cell

  9. Summarization • Friar John returns to Friar Laurence cell. • Friar John tells Friar Laurence that he couldn’t get the letter to Romeo because Mantua was afraid of infection. • This messes up Friar Laurence’s plan because Romeo didn’t get the letter saying Juliet wasn’t really dead.

  10. Scene 3

  11. Characters in Scene 3 • Paris- Comes to lay flowers on Juliet’s grave, but gets in a fight with Romeo and dies. • Page- Paris’ servant who runs to get help. • Romeo- He comes to kill himself next to Juliet and he kills Paris. • Balthasar- Romeo’s servant to help him keep watch. • Friar Laurence- He comes to Juliet’s grave to try to get there before Romeo gets there and Juliet wakes up. • Juliet- She wakes up to see Romeo and Paris dead and then kills herself too. • Prince- Comes to ask what happens.

  12. Characters in Scene 3 • Chief Watchman- He is watching over the grave site. • Second Watchman- The Chief watchman’s backup. • Third Watchman- The Chief watchman’s backup. • Capulet- He comes to Juliet’s grave to find Romeo, Juliet, and Paris dead and he makes up with Montague. • Lady Capulet- She comes with Capulet to the grave. • Montague- He comes to Juliet’s grave to find Romeo, Juliet, and Paris dead and he makes up with Capulet.

  13. Setting • The churchyard; in it, a monument belonging to the Capulet's.

  14. Summarization • Paris and Page come to put flowers on Juliet’s grave. When they get there, they see Romeo and Balthasar. Romeo and Paris fight and Romeo kills Paris. Romeo lays Paris next to Juliet in the tomb. Romeo then drinks his potion and dies next to Juliet. Friar Laurence arrives and Juliet wakes up to find everyone dead. Then Friar Laurence hears a noise and leaves the tomb without Juliet. Then once he leaves, she kills herself with Romeo’s dagger.

  15. Summarization • The Watchman come to find everyone dead. Then the Prince, Capulet, and Lady Capulet join them. Capulet and Lady Capulet are surprised to see that Juliet has recently been killed again. Montague comes to the tomb. Then Friar Laurence tells the Prince the whole story. Montague says that Lady Montague died of shock from hearing of Romeo’s death. Capulet and Montague to forget their feud and become friends.
