  5. Características Geográficas • Superficie: • 19 – 20 Millones de Km2 aprox. • Zonas geográficas: • Amazonas • Cordillera andina • Región insular

Características Climatológicas • Climas muy variados • Regiones muy cálidas en costa y amazonía • Regiones frías en zona andina • En costa y amazonía: • Temperaturas altas y precipitaciones constantes  Permite formación de bosques tropicales. • Vertiente Atlántica  Vientos alisios • En zona andina estacionalidad: • Época de lluvias Vs. época seca • Vertiente Pacífica  Corrientes frías. Clima más árido

  7. Ecosistemas Principales • Bosques tropicales • Sabanas • Formaciones andinas • Humedales (Manglares y zonas de transición entre costa y continente) • Problemas de deforestación para uso agrícola.
