  1. 7th and 8th grade students must meet attendance requirements AND have a minimum of a D average (67D-)at the end of the 4th quarter for EACH in a subject to pass it for the year.Students can only fail one major subject and still be promoted to the next grade.Students that fail 2 major subjects may be able to enroll in summer school and attempt to pass them there IF summer school is offered.If a student fails 3 or more subjects, or fails due to attendance, summer school is NOT an option.(*see STPSB’s handbook or CSJH’s handbook for more details) Pupil Progression Plan (pass/fail information)

  2. There is a HUGE change the way6th&7thgrade students’ averagesare calculated* that may result in your child receiving MUCH lower interim & report card grades than previous years!!!!!(*as mandated by Louisiana state law) BEWARE

  3. 6th-letter grades Changes in Grading: are recorded & their Quality Points averaged 7th-number grades are recorded & averaged in JPams QUALITY POINTS DO NOT CHANGE— A= 4 pts, B= 3 pts, C=2 pts, D=1 pt, & F=0 pts (used to calculate GPA and such)

  4. Ex: F (0 QP) 0 A (4 QP) 95 F (0 QP) 50 + (QP) + (Pts) A (4 QP) 103 248 8QP ÷4 = Interim or Report Card AVERAGE 2QPC 62 F ÷4 = QUALITY POINTS DO NOT CHANGE— A= 4 pts, B= 3 pts, C=2 pts, D=1 pt, & F=0 pts
