  1. Join us in prayer for THE MIDDLE EAST

  2. Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Colossians 4:2-3

  3. SIM Middle East aim to encourage Christians in the region to continue to minister to their neighbours with the love of Christ and the message of the cross.

  4. Pray for communities where Christ is least known Majorities • Islam is the majority religion, and most people only know caricatures of Christian faith. • As many ask questions, they need to connect with scripture and with Christians who can explain scripture to them. • Pray for more people to walk with and disciple people. • Give thanks for satellite, internet, print and church initiatives which support the vital witness of national believers.

  5. Pray for communities where Christ is least known Education & Theological Training • A number of our colleagues teach and serve in schools and education centres, and have opportunities to tell biblical stories to children and their families. • Some are involved in theological study and ministry training, teaching in Arabic to equip church leaders. • Ask the Lord for more teachers who can reach out to people at all levels of society. Pray for our language learning to be effective so we can serve both community and church.

  6. Pray for communities where Christ is least known Maids In many cities there are significant numbers of migrant maids, who often have no liberty and are abused physically and sexually. One of our colleagues distributes MP3 players to them, with scripture and Christian songs in mother-tongue languages. Pray as they hear and respond. Give thanks that some are finding Christ.

  7. Pray for communities where Christ is least known Prisoners Prison visits are a key ministry, bringing opportunities to care for people and share Christ. Gifts of food, clothes and the word of God are given in print, DVD and MP3 form. Give thanks that these resources are helping prisoners find freedom in Christ and form fellowships within the prisons.

  8. Pray for communities where Christ is least known Refugees Displaced people are in every area, and impact every ministry. A number of churches are helping displaced Syrians prepare for when they can return to live and work again in Syria. Give thanks that as local churches reach out, people ask questions and respond to Christ’s love. Educating displaced children is sowing seeds for eternity, and brings the gospel to families.

  9. Prayer requests from our SIM team • Please pray for: • stamina and wisdom for local Christians witnessing to Christ under pressure. • patience and wisdom as we negotiate the challenges of residence. • theological and practical ministry training to equip leaders to build Christ’s church in unsettled and sometimes volatile circumstances. • people who will pray with and for Middle Easterners everywhere. • flexible and godly people to respond to the Lord’s call to serve in the region. • relationships with local leaders and networks, as we explore suitable opportunities to serve with them.
