  2. Goal: This session will help faculty members understand the new FPE system and will aid them in developing effective FPE plans.

Learning Objectives for this Session After completing this session you should be able to… • Articulate the annual dates and deadlines for submission of the various components of FPE plans • Properly complete FPE forms • Describe the roles played by key parties involved in the process • Faculty member • Department Head/ Program Director, • Associate Dean • Describe the relationship between FPEs and tenure, promotion, merit, and continued employment • Differentiate between an effective and an ineffective plan

  4. Faculty Performance Evaluation System “Refresher”

  5. Satisfactory Standards of Employment (SSE)* SSE Refers to the standard that each full-time tenured faculty member at GRCC has to meet in order to maintain ongoing employment. SSE: • Must be met every year • Are used for those full-time tenured faculty not seeking rank or merit increases • Must be indicated on Faculty Performance Evaluation plan (FPE) form *Refer to p.2 in MOU, Faculty Evaluation System

  6. Yearly Distribution Requirements (YDR)* Refers to the standard that each full-time non-tenured and temporary faculty member has to meet in order to maintain ongoing employment. YDR: • Also refers to the standard that each tenured faculty has to meet to achieve merit and progress in rank. • Is followed by those faculty seeking rank and/or merit increases; for non-tenure FT faculty; for FT temporary faculty • Must be indicated on Faculty Performance Evaluation plan (FPE) form *refer to p.3 in MOU, Faculty Evaluation System

  9. The Faculty Performance Evaluation Plan…. • …is submitted on an annual basis early in Fall Semester • …observes established deadlines • …includes SSE’s, YDR’s and the other requirements needed to maintain employment, achieve tenure, merit and rank

Effective FPE Plans…. • …provide adequate attention to requirements for ongoing employment, tenure, merit and promotion • …have clearly defined outcomes • …meet identified needs of department, School, College or individual faculty member’s professional growth * refer to p 6 in MOU, Faculty Evaluation System

The Faculty Performance Evaluation Report… • …is a follow up to the Faculty Performance Evaluation Plan • …is completed in Winter Semester • …includes a comprehensive reflection on: • Actions taken to complete the plan • Achievements (with concrete examples, where applicable) • Modifications to the original plan

  13. Instructions for Accessing Online form • Using your Browser ( Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari, Chrome), go to: http://www.grcc.edu • Login to the Online Center by clicking on “Online Center Login” • Enter your User ID ( W 1234567) and Password prior to clicking on “Login”

  14. Instructions for Accessing Online form(cont.) • Click on Faculty Performance Evaluation • Click on the individual TABS to work on and complete the components of your Faculty Performance Evaluation Plan/Report.

Instructions for Accessing Online form(cont.) • Click on “SAVE” to save your work for each TAB before final submissionClick on SUBMIT to submit a section of your plan/report to your PD/DH.Note: once you have submitted a TAB, you lose the ability to modify plan/report. You may request that your plan be “unlocked” for modifications by emailing your Associate Dean. • Once plan is approved, use same instructions to work on and complete the report sections of FPE plan/report.
