Congressional Review Authorizing Committees Appropriations Committees Senate Committee on Indian Affairs Staff: Majority – John Hart Minority – Rhonda Harjo House Committee on Natural Resources Staff: Joshua Pitre & Teresa Bravo Senate Staff: Peter Kiefhaber & Brent Wiles House Staff: Julie Falkner & Darren Benjamin Budget Committee Authorizing: Gives broad permission to spend money on programs. Authorize mandatory funding – comes directly from Treasury, not through appropriation process. Budget: Provides top line budget assumptions to the Appropriations Committee and Revenue assumptions to the authorizing committees. Appropriations: Directs the release of funds from Treasury. Gives specific direction for the use of funds. Establishes 302b allocations for subcommittees.
