Today and beyond… • Lots of information… but you’re not expected to be the experts… • Focus on the process and spend some time working with your school on integrating this process at your schools… • Keep in mind the concept of best practices and look for commonalities… we need a framework that works for us… not looking for a magic pill… think in terms or marzano schools

School Cadres and Collaborative Teams • Serve as the Curriculum Leadership Team for your school • Gather and interpret information for your school to assist in the development of your school implementation plan • Assist your principal in the dissemination of this information to your colleagues (faculty presentation and follow-ups)

School Cadres and Collaborative Teams • Assist your principal in facilitating these processes with your colleagues • Serve as models of learning and development for your colleagues • Assist your principal in the sharing of school progress during district follow-up sessions or Principal Leadership Academies

  11. Curriculum Mapping District Curriculum Maps are in! -English Language Arts -Math -Science -Social Studies

Curriculum Mapping • Maps will be emailed out shortly to all schools. • Schools will take district maps and thoroughly review document with their teachers and determine alignment with their current school maps. • Schools will align current curriculum school maps with the district level map and provide feedback on any issues or recommendations that may arise during this process. • Note: Recommendations and changes need to be clearly explained and supported. They cannot simply be because of preference.

  14. GDOE Standards Based Assessment • Standards Based Assessment – Phase 1 complete, but needs revisions to align to CCSS: -ELA 1, 3-8, 10. -Math 3-8, Algebra. • SBA- Phase 2 -ELA 2, 9,11-12 -Math 1-2, Pre-Algebra -Social Studies, Science

  15. Student Assessment System Key Questions… • What assessments would be most appropriate for our purposes? • How often do we wish to assess our students? • What is our current organizational capacity inclusive of human resource needs and technology? • What are we going to do with the data?
