By working with Key Club International's partner organizations, Key Clubs serve children by aiding other organizations committed to serving children.   4. UNICEF—The Eliminate Project + Kiwanis International and UNICEF have come together to eliminate Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus from the face of the Earth. Preferred Charities

  5. UNICEF—The Eliminate Project What is MNT? Exists in 25 countries worldwide Occurs when tetanus spores in soil come into contact with open cuts during childbirth Causes newborns to suffer painful convulsions and extreme sensitivity to light and touch Both newborns and mothers die What can we do to help? 3 doses of 60-cent immunization ($1.80) can protect mothers and their future babies Our goal is to raise $110 million by 2015 Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF with your club!   6. March of Dimes This organization ultimately strives to prevent birth defects, promote healthy pregnancy, and provide medical support for premature infants. Fun Fact: March of Dimes was originally established by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt to fight polio. Preferred Charities

  8. Children’s Miracle Network Preferred Charities This is a non-profit organization that supports hospitalized children and increases awareness of its member hospitals. Benefit hospitals by helping to purchase proper equipment Train doctors and implement outreach programs Provide healthcare for children whose parents struggle financially

  9. Children’s Miracle Network Preferred Charities IHOP National Pancake Day In honor of National Pancake Day, IHOP serves free pancakes. All donations are given to the Children’s Miracle Network. Dairy Queen’s Miracle Treat Day Proceeds from every Blizzard Treat sold will be donated to hospitals of the Children’s Miracle Network.

  10. Pediatric Trauma Program Preferred Charities Pediatric Trauma remains the leading cause of death and injury among children ages 14 and under in the United States. The Kiwanis Cal-Nev-Ha Foundation adopted PTP as their major focus, to develop local projects which will reduce the number of children in our District who are effected by trauma, ensuring all children live happy, healthy, and safe lives.

  11. Pediatric Trauma Program Preferred Charities How to Get Involved: Begin fundraising for PTP prior to Fall Rally. At Fall Rally, Lt. Governors can be “bought” with the money that you fundraise as a division. Coordinate a day to create PTP Dolls, which help children understand their injuries and the possible procedures that they will undergo.
