NEAT: R-11 Insulation • Insulation Cost • Bag of insulation costs $20 • For R-11, bag covers 200 ft² • $20/200 ft² = $0.10/ft² • Labor Cost • House with 1000 ft² attic • 2 crew members take 4 hours each to insulate attic • Crew cost is $30/hour • (2 crew) x (4 hours/crew) x ($30/hour) = $240 • $240/1000 ft² = $0.24/ft²

NEAT: R-19 Insulation • Insulation Cost • Bag of insulation costs $20 • For R-11, bag covers 100 ft² • $20/100 ft² = $0.20/ft² • Labor Cost • House with 1000 ft² attic • 2 crew members take 6 hours each to insulate attic • Crew cost is $30/hour • (2 crew) x (6 hours/crew) x ($30/hour) = $360 • $360/1000 ft² = $0.36/ft²

NEAT: Window Replacement • 20” x 40” Window • = 60 U.I. • $2/U.I. • 60 U.I. x $2/U.I. = $120 • Area = 20 in x 40 in = 800 in²/144 = 5.56 ft² • $120/5.56 ft² = $21.6/ft² • 36” x 48” Window • = 84 U.I. • 84 U.I. x $2 U.I. = $168 • Area = 36 in x 48 in = 1728 in²/144 = 12 ft² • $168/12 ft² = $14/ft² • Average cost • ($21.6 ft² + $14/ft²)/2 = $17.8/ft²
