  3. Concept Development: The Empty Sketchbook • ModCloth’s business acts as an empty sketchbook, or blank slate, being open to many ideas of creativity and also focusing on development and design of their business, including their website, blog, and clothing.

  4. Our Three Concepts: • “ Bringing your creations to life through an empty sketchbook.” • Creating originality from the beginning. • “Meeting business aspects with principles and elements of art.” • Making relationships between ModCloth’s business and Principles of Art. • “Creative identity of an individual through the process of emotional style.” • Customization of what’s already made through an emotional state of mind.

  5. Our First Concept: • A sketchbook is an item that any artist or designer uses to draw ideas and put their imagination on paper. Whether drawing a 2-dimensional or 3-dimensional object in a sketchbook, the sketch itself is still a 2-dimensional object, which is the flat piece of paper. • Creating originality from the beginning. • “ Bringing your creations to life through an empty sketchbook.”

  6. Our Second Concept: • Each and every individual designer has their own process to make an idea creative in a sketchbook, which is what makes every designer unique in their own way. • All designers have strategic planning and concept design in their own style but, they all focus on the same general area, which is the elements and principles of art. • Making relationships between ModCloth’s business and Principles of Art. • “Meeting business aspects with principles and elements of art.”

  7. Our Third Concept: • Still focusing on how different designers develop a concept in their own way, we came up with our second concept. We also tied in the fact that a persons emotions with sketching in an empty sketchbook. • Customization of what’s already made through an emotional state of mind. • “Creative identity of an individual through the process of emotional style.”
