  4. Coverage: all developing regions SSAfrica: Uganda, Mozambique, Cote d’Ivoire Asia:Cambodia, the Philippines, Vietnam LA:Guatemala, Bolivia, Ecuador Middle East: Egypt, Jordan, Morocco

  5. Approach - UCCEE regional managers- regional centres (technical support) - national institutions lead - host is relevant gov agency and not necessarily UNFCCC focal point

  8. Objective 1: Sensitize government support for the CDM • Output 1.1: Report on the assessment of the capacity for national involvement in and commitment to the principles of the CDM • Output 1.3: Establish focal point agency to coordinate national CDM Project activities

  9. Objective 2: Develop capacity of policy makers • Output 2.1: Report on capacity needs of key government policy makers and enhance their capacity.(project cycle basis) • Output 2.2: Define regulatory, legal, financial and technical guidelines for cycle of CDM project activities(project registration, credit sharing, reporting)

  10. Objective 3: Establish institutional framework for the CDM projects • Output 3.1: Set national CDM operationalentities (required under UNFCCC)

  11. Objective 4: Strengthen capabilities of the public and private sectors (based on envisaged role in CDM) • Output 4.1: Develop training materials • Output 4.2: Increase understanding of the national financial community/banks on the CDM

  12. Objective 5: Establish a pipeline of the CDM projects • Output 5.1: a pipeline of CDM potential projects • Output 5.2: Facilitate Investment for CDM eligible projects (promote projects)
