Lee County • Awarded $68,950 for a 9-1-1 training project • Locality has drawn down $4,837 • Requesting an extension until 6/30/13 • Lee County is still in the process of implementing E-911 and wireless 9-1-1 • Expected completion date is the end of the 2012 calendar year • These implementations have taken longer than expected because addressing in a rural locality is challenging and the County has not yet achieved the minimum validation percentages • A large part of the grant will be used to train new personnel, but E-911 and wireless deployments must occur first

Charles City County • Awarded $96,000 for a CAD/GIS mapping upgrade project • Locality has drawn down $65,896 • Requesting an extension until 12/30/12 • During the implementation phase of the upgrade, the locality experienced a failure to one of their CPE workstations • This workstation was no longer supported by a maintenance agreement with a vendor and locality needed to first obtain grant funds to replace the workstation • Despite setback, a portion of the upgrade has been completed
