  4. S.C.D GOVERNEMT COLLEGELUDHIANA • 1920: S.C.D Govt College, Ludhiana is a state of the art institution that was established in 1920 on the recommendations of the Presidency of Calcutta with . FA/F.Sc • 1932:It rose to BA/B.Sc in 1932. • 1952 : The MA/M.Sc, M.Com in the college were introduced in the year 1952. • In the year 2004, the college was accredited by NAAC, Bangalore, and was awarded Grade A. • 2009: In the year 2009, a Research Centre for PhD in Hindi was started in the college along with M.Com (Business Innovations) A UGC Innovative programme. • Presently 9 post graduation programmes with one innovative programme is running in the college

SKILL ORIENTED PROGRAMMEM.COM (BUSINESS INNOVATIONS) • Specifically designed to suit industry requirements. • Different from traditional courses because of inclusion of “Business Oriented Skills Component” which is generally not part of traditional courses. • Designed for students who wish to acquire the skills related with innovation management in any kind of organization. • Programme is cross disciplinary in nature that can provide added value for anybody holding a degree who seeks training in areas of business management with special emphasis on technology innovation and management. • The Programme is innovative as it involve enhancement of business skills in students, research projects focusing on industry needs, involvement of industry experts in evaluating the various aspects of students skills, industry institute collaboration.

DIPLOMA IN STOCK MARKET AND TRADING OPERATIONS • Diploma in Stock Market Trading and Operations in MOU with Ludhiana Stock Exchange and in affiliation with Panjab University Chandigarh • Skill Development in Capital and Stock Market — Diploma In Stock market Trading & Operations will meet the growing need for investment advisors, business developers, client relationship managers and entrepreneurs.

Objectives to be achieved through this programme • To ignite the young mind for generating new ideas to come up with FINANCIAL AND STOCK MARKET solutions by equipping them innovative soft skills and managerial skills . • To develop creative abilities in students by putting them in problem areas with the help of industry to enhance their capability to make employable in various sectors of economy. • To develop corporate dashboards which utilize key performance indicators which managers and workers can use to improve their functioning through developing research domain in the programme • To provide a forum to the students and faculty to interact with industry experts, know their requirements , identify their core-areas of research and the research projects

  13. Problem Areas • Release of Grant on time. • Lack of support from Universities. • Non-flexible approach • Lack of autonomy • Reluctant approach of Universities to implement choice based credit system. • Hassles at UGC level • Lack of Autonomy to the coordinators.

Proposed Action Plan • Extensive Industry Institute Interface. • More MOU to be signed with National Stock Exchange, Hong Kong Stock Exchange • Increase the training part in the curriculum • Progression towards advance diploma level and then degree level. • Start capsule level certificate programmes
