  13. Charity events At the Wavell, we enjoy supporting local, national and international charities. Recently we have had an RRR day (rights, responsibility, and respect.) Both pupils and teachers joined in the fun and all the money raised from this went to Teenage Cancer Trust...
  14. We raised ALOT of money
  15. Red Nose Day! To raise money for another charity we had a cake sale! We all wore red noses!!!
  16. Projects Each year we have a “business” day where year nines take part and create their own product. It’s a motivating and realistic challenge. We also love languages and even have our own Japanese website http://www.wavellschool.org.uk/wavelljapanese/index.html As well as languages we took part in a digital heritage project which won a competition and will soon be in local libraries
  17. Rock Challenge!! Rock challenge is a dance competition that we take part in every year! It is a big part of our school. The aim of Rock Challenge - The challenge is to be the best that we can without the use of nicotine, alcohol or other drugs, and there are severe penalties for anyone who fails that challenge on any event day and for their team too. You can watch our performance from 2008 – it is on the CD.
  18. Holocaust Memorial Day We like to take part in international events, so we took part in a memorial day! We wrote down our hopes for the future of the world and hung them on a specially made tree
  19. Around the world Barcelona Berlin Japan We’ve been fortunate enough to have the chances to travel to many different places around the world...
  20. In Spain we had a session learning about Brazilian Music We really enjoyed it
