LANDSCAPES AND THE EUROPEAN CULTURAL HERITAGE - Landscapes are a high synthetic expression of human relationships through time. - “Landscape” means an area, as perceived by people, whose character is the result of the action and interaction of natural and/or human factors (European Landscape Convention, art.1a). The temporal dimension defines the essential archaeological historical character of landscape and leads it to play a relevant role in the present research and management of European Cultural Heritage.
