  1. He Set My Feet Upon A Rock! Gospel Chapel January 27, 2013

  2. Psalm 40:1-3 •  I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined to me, and heard my cry. 2 He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps. 3 He has put a new song in my mouth - Praise to our God; many will see it and fear, and will trust in the Lord!

  3. The Horrible Pit! • Does God hear your cry? • From the horrible pit or the miry clay. • King David’s cry for help in Psalm 69:1-3 • Save me, O God! For the waters have come up to my neck. 2 I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing; I have come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me. 3 I am weary with my crying; my throat is dry; my eyes fail while I wait for my God

  4. Feet Upon a Rock! • Stop trying to save yourself! Cry out to God, He alone can save you! • No one can pull you out like Jesus can! • He will take you out and set you on solid ground! The Rock! It’s a sure footing where you will not slip! • Are you on the Rock of Jesus? Is your faith planted solid in Him?

  5. Established Steps! • God establishes our steps! • Ps 37:23-24 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way. 24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; for the Lord upholds him with His hand • God prepared work for us on our path! • Eph 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

  6. A New Song Of Praise! • Praise instead of complaints! What a difference! • Ps 34:1-3 I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. 2 My soul shall make its boast in the Lord; the humble shall hear of it and be glad. 3 Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together.

  7. Many Will See It! • The witness of a life that has been saved and walks where Jesus wants them to walk, while giving praise! Many will Fear and Trust the Lord because of this! • A solid stand, with purpose and direction in life, giving praise to Jesus is attractive to a world spinning in the mud! Always defeated by sin and the enemy, without purpose in life, they need us to show them the way!

  8. Can A Christian Get Off Course? • Is it possible to be off course? And where does it lead us? • 2 Pet 2:20-22 For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning. 21 For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. 22 But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: “A dog returns to his own vomit,” and, “a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire.”

  9. We are not of those! • Hebrews 10:39 But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul. • Colossians 2:6-7 As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, 7 rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving
