  3. All students are considered I.S. Meets with teacher Weekly Appointments Standards Based Curriculum Fully Accredited Independent Study

  4. I.S.  Hybrid • College prep classes are offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays • They are optional • High expectations

  5. 5 Days of School 2 Days of Classes • Students receive formal instruction twice a week • Students should expect 4-5 hours or work each day at home

  6. Teacher’s Role • Design course • Make assignments • Grade and collect work • Calculate attendance based on work product not seat time

  7. Student Responsibilities • Complete assignments on time • Attend class regularly • Act responsibly • Participate fully

  8. Communicate with the teachers Make sure assignments are complete Be on time Sign required paperwork each learning period Help student stay organized Parent Responsibilities

  10. California State Local High School College Entrance UC CSU Private Community It is always a good idea to have an idea of where you want to go to college… requirements may be different! Graduation Requirements are different from college entrance requirements

  11. Attending JC and high school at the same time. Receiving college credit while in high school. Saves time Saves money Eases the transition between high school and college independence. What is Early College?
