  2. Dystrophy • Muscle disorder resulting from defective or faulty nutrition, abnormal development, infection.

  3. Myalgia • Muscle pain.

  4. Range of motion • Active or passive movements of muscle groups to the full extent possible.

  5. Tonus • Slight, continuous contraction of muscle.

  6. Contraction • Shortening of muscle tissue.

  7. Paralysis • Loss or impairment of motor function.

  8. Skeletal • Pertaining to the framework of the body.

  9. Atrophy • Wasting away; decreasing in size.

  10. Posture • Attitude or position of the body.

  11. Visceral • Pertaining to any large interior organ in any one of the cavities of the body.

  12. Flexion • Decreasing angle at a joint.

  13. Antagonist • Muscle that acts in opposition to the action of another muscle, its agonist.
