  2. Introduction • I am going to introduce you to a place called Oshawa, this place is a very exciting and peaceful place. The latitude and longitude of Oshawa is 43° 54' N 78° 52' W

  7. Landform Regions • This is the Great Lakes and St Lawrence lowlands.

  8. The lowlands • This is a close up of the lowlands it is close to the river or lakes and it is very important to the fishermen because of events and where the water is located.

  9. History • Oshawa was founded in 1876 as the McLaughlin Carriage Companystopped in Oshawa. Oshawa began as a trading point for the fur trade. Beavers were captured and animal pelts. Later in the 1900 started to export. The business was shipping salmon to the United States of America.

  10. Ecozone region • Oshawa is in the mixed wood Plains and the animals you can find are raccoon’s, skunk’s, great blue heron’s and grey squirrel’s. The mixed wood region’s area is 113 000 km. The population density for the mixed wood plains is 124.03

  11. The Vegetation Region of Oshawa • Oshawa is in the mixed forest region. The mixed forest region is made up mainly of hardwoods. Which, following an annual cycle, lose their leaves in autumn become dormant in winter and in the spring bud appear in the trees.

  12. The Soil Region of Oshawa • Oshawa is in the wet-climate soil region. The Soil is a deep grey-brown topsoil and it is very rich it is a really good place for gardening, planting and agriculture. The soil is suitable for farming.

  13. Oshawa’s Climate Oshawa is known to have fairly cold and windy winters and typically hot, humid in the summers.

Tourism Oshawa has many tourist attractions such as the Canadian Automotive Museum, the Canadian Aviation Expo, the Oshawa Little Theatre, Oshawa Gardens, the Robert McLaughlin Art Gallery, beautiful parklands and trails, a gorgeous waterfront, the Oshawa Downtown Murals, Oshawa Civic Auditorium, and excellent restaurants, excellent hotels and motels.

  16. Fishing • Fishing is a very popular event in Oshawa because people have contest and events to catch the most and the biggest fishes.

  17. Sports • Sports are necessary. It is because the people are very competitive and frequently played. The Generals is the hockey team for Oshawa.

  18. Winter sports • Winter in Oshawa is one of the best times. In Oshawa there are a lot of race events with ski-doo’s and Four wheeler’s. The winner of the race is award with a trophy for the year and money.

  19. Transportation • There is a train station in Oshawa that connects to Toronto. There are bus station in most the area of Oshawa and the bus’s runs 18 hours a day, 16 hours on weekends and they run all year long. There is no air port in Oshawa but Toronto is very close and there are many airport there and there are small planes that can hold up to four people. .

  20. Population • The total Population in 2006is 141,590 and a lot of the population go to events like fishing, sports, and races. The population is very supportive to the event and etc.

  21. Industries There are not to many factories in Oshawa. So Oshawa does a minimum of pollution. The few industries import materials from primary industries and make them into to valuables goods and other products and then export them. Some factories make car’s, toys, four wheelers and ski-doos some of the car’s that they make are GM, Ford, Kia, Hyundai and Honda.
