Rising Consumption Ratio of Wine in India India was never in the race of consuming expensive beverages but exposure to the western culture in last few years has motivated the young generation to consume wine. Due to which the wine consumption ratio has extremely raised in last few years. According to the Indian Wine Market overview, wine in India has grown at a CAGR rate of 16.29% just in the last few years. Apart from the exposure to foreign culture, relaxed and promotional government policies, rise in foreign tourist, and higher disposable incomes has also been the factors to influence the wine industry in India. Foreign tourist and exposure to the western culture motivated the generation to believe that the consuming expensive wine is a part of a luxurious lifestyle. Increasing number of wine consumers has also inspired the entrepreneurs to establish the domestic wine industry because of the high import and custom charges that make the wine two times more expensive than its actual cost. It can be said that the red wine in India is the most favorite among the wine lovers and accounts the majority of sales. Red and white wine, though, are both commonly consumed favor and are expected to grow at a steady rate in the upcoming years. In addition, sparkling wine and rose wines had been recently introduced in the wine categories that are catching the market faster. It is assumed that the sparkling wine will be having the most promising growth in the domestic wine industry due to the active promotion of the category in the 5-star and mid-tier hotels and luxury locations. The majority of regions of Best wine in India are concentrated in the south-western areas of the country, largely in the state of Karnataka and Maharashtra. Compared to other regions in India, the western part of the country has the maximum wine sales that are then followed by north and south. Domestically, 80% of the total wine consumption in India is confined to the major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Goa, and Bangalore. Furthermore, sales from retail had taken over the market as compared to the other institutional sales.
