  1. Request Inactive Date • The Request Inactive Date signifies the last active date for an equipment request. The Request Inactive Date, which is displayed on the Calendar page of Railcar Equipment Request (RER) tool, will increase from 7 days after the Want Date to 28 days after the Want Date. • By extending this date, it provides BNSF the opportunity to fulfill equipment requests before the equipment requests are closed; thus, reducing the need for customers to re-order equipment that has not been delivered, but is still needed. This change will allow BNSF customers to manage their own railcar requirements more efficiently. Currently, the Request Inactive Date is 7 days after the Want Date, but can be extended by 7 more Days by clicking the Request Inactive Date. 7 Days On November 15, 2014, the Request Inactive Date will be changed to 28 days after the Want Date and will no longer be extendable on the Calendar page in the RER Tool. 28 Days
