Introductions: Name I preferred to be called: Mr. Bycott My Educational Background: Associates of Science degree Yavapai Community College in Science Undergraduate degree from Northern Arizona University in secondary the Geo Sciences with a emphasis in secondary education Graduate degree from Northern Arizona University in Applied Geospatial Systems / Science: Defense of a practicum on GIS student designed projects affect on student perceived college readiness in post high school education Major driving force in my life: Married to Jaclyn Bycott with 3 kids (Roselynn 12, William 3 and Grace 1) Interesting thing(s) about you: Arizona Native, love the outdoors, and enjoy reading

Introductions: Name I preferred to be called: Mr. Kirwin My Educational Background: Bachelors degree from the University of Oklahoma in meteorology with minors in journalism, history and GIS Currently working on a Masters degree from Arizona State University in Secondary Education (graduating December 2013) Major driving force in my life: Trying to experience as many things and learn as much as I can. Interesting thing(s) about you:I have lived in six different states and three different countries. My hobbies include film photography and collecting tapes and records.

  7. Questions to Answer: Record the following information with the use of tally marks: 1 = Never 2 = Sometimes 3 = Most of the time 4= Always
  8. Questions 1-10: When a new movie comes out in theaters are you there opening night? Do you pay attention to new fades or styles? When faced with a challenge do you begin tackling the problem and only seek help when you get stuck? If presented with a group of unrelated tasks do you itemize them based on desire to do them with your favorite things last? When watching TV do you watch Reality TV shows? When on a road trip do you have a road atlas with you? When a challenge is presented to you do you tend to want to be first to accomplish the challenge? When a new topic or idea is presented to you do you think about it a lot and only share your ideas with spouse or people very close to you? Do you prefer to read paperback books to hardback books? If presented with a group of unrelated tasks do you itemize them based on time to be completed?
  9. Questions 11-20: Do you text while driving? Do you watch TV? How often do you read the paper (not online)? When a challenge is presented to you do you tend to want to be right more than first? If presented with a group of unrelated tasks do you itemize them based on desire to do them with your favorite things first? When faced with a challenge do you contact others before making a plan? When a new topic or idea is presented to you do you talk with friends and peers about the idea? When needing to talk with someone do you find text an impersonal manner of communication? Make Observations: Must make 3 observation about what you see in both turn based and number based approach to questions for a total of 6 observations, and additional 3 comparisons between the two methods. Number Based Approach: Everyone starts at island 1 and you stay at the island as long as you have 1’s. As soon as you no longer have 1’s you move to the 2 island and wait. Turn Based Approach: Everyone starts at island 1 and there are 20 turns. Once you have exhausted 1’s you move to island 2 and then once you have exhausted 2’s you move to island 3.
  11. Write about what you saw: With your 6 observations (3 from each method of looking at the data) and your 3 comparisons write 500 words on what you saw and how relates to teams structure, lab groups or the ideal classroom. Due 08/09/2013
