  31. Preliminary Result Voltage vs. Reactive Power for ½ hp Single Phase Motoron Full Load

  32. Preliminary Result Comparison of Efficiency of the ½ hp Motor at Different Load

  33. Preliminary Result Summary • As the voltage increases, the power proportionally increases with the lumen output for incandescent lamps • For compact fluorescent lamps, the lumen output doesn’t increase proportionally with the power and voltage • The input power approximately increases by 2% in each voltage change by keeping the output power almost constant for the single phase motor • The efficiency of the motor improves as it runs on full load

  34. Speculations and Limitations • Voltage reduction may have an effect on the lamp life • No data on dynamic behavior yet

  35. Conclusion & Future Work • Reduction of voltage reduces the power consumption and saves energy • The performance and reliability of these kind of lamps are excellent under this conditions • Input power varies linearly with the voltage for the motor • The efficiency of the motor improves as it runs from low load to full load on different voltages

  36. Conclusion & Future Work • To test the computer power supply under different load conditions (from processing an MS-Office to operating a graphic program) by varying the voltage. • To test HID lamps under varying voltage
