  4. Drawing Conclusions from data • Conclusion statements contain factual observations of the data. • Work in groups to write 5 conclusion statements about the Math and 5 statements about the ELA data. • Notes: • ELA Conclusions • Not enough Level 4 • Level 2 #s has increased • Most students @ Level 3 • Numerous high Level 2s • Level 1 #s decreased from the previous year • MATH Conclusions • Level 2 #s increased dramatically over 2 years • Level 4 #s decreased • Level 3 #s increased 10% • Level 1 #s increased from ’10 to ‘11 • Level 2 #s increased 6x in 2 years

  5. why • Pick one conclusion statement and ask why 5 times. • (Conclusion stmt: Level 2s increasing in both ELA & Math) • Make predictions about why: • State changed cut-off scores • Individuals making decision about state testing w/out recent classroom experience • Students are “blowing it off” because of no accountability • The lower test scores creates a fabricated need for APPR • Kids are over-tested • What additional data is needed to help draw conclusions? • Not at this time

  6. Study hall stats • Jen is working with the counselors to determine how many students have 2 study halls per day (every other day). We will be discussing these numbers at the next Core Team meeting. See your Core Team Rep if you have creative ideas for use of time. • Ex.
