  4. Mourning Together • Christians mourn differently than the world, but we still mourn. • We mourn in different ways for different reasons. • We mourn for the death of saints because of a loss to Christ’s body, and for sinners because they don’t know Christ. • We mourn for the injustice of this world and for the sins that are committed against God.

  5. Soul Comfort • Jesus and the Holy Spirit comfort us as we must endure the sins and problems of this world, the persecution and the violence around us. • We can experience comfort in our lives presently, but we will also experience comfort at the end of human history. • We long for Christ’s return so that we can have joy in place of our sorrows!

  6. Key of the Kingdom • Blessedness comes for the mourner because of the assurance that God will comfort us. • God has many methods of comforting us. He comforts through believers, through His Word, and through His Spirit, to name a few. • The worst that this world can duel out hurts us and causes sorrow, but one day, we will be filled with joy in the same place that we are now filled with sorrow.
