  1. “Who hindered you”

  2. “Who hindered You” • Matthew 19-23 • 19 When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the wayside. • 20 But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; • 21 yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles. • 22 Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful. • 23 But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.”

  3. “Who hindered you” • 1 Cor. 9:24-25 • 24 Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. • 25 And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown.

  4. “Who hindered you” • Hebrew 12:1-2 • Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, • 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

  5. “Who hindered you” • Gal. 5:7 • 7 You ran well. Who hindered you from obeying the truth?

  6. “Who hindered you” • Christian life compared to a race • We are in different stages of this race • Some have been in it a long time • Some are new • Some may not have entered in or started; Here to hear and know more about • Those who are in the race must not cause others to stumble

  7. “Who hindered you” • How well are you running • Run it to win it. “Run it in such a way that you may obtain it.” 1 Cor. 9:24 • Run with patience. Heb. 12:1 • Run it with Jesus. “Looking unto Jesus..” • Run it well Gal. 5:7

  8. “Who hindered you” • Hindrances (Cutting in) • A parking spot • A long queue • An application being processed • We are often hindered in our race • In 1 Thes. 2:18 “..But Satan hindered..” • We allow ourselves to be hinderd – wrong priorities, un-confessed sin

  9. “Who hindered you” • “I am not what I ought be, but I am not what I used to be” • What we were • What we are • What we should be • Thank God for salvation, we are not what we used to be • Many are satisfied where they are • In Christian life there is always room for growth- What we should be

  14. “Who hindered you” • Christ is calling us to run this race well • Run with patience • Run in faith • Run with Jesus • Run to win • “My country did not send me here just to start the race; they sent me here to finish” • Beloved, run your race faithfully. God will give you strength.

  15. “Who hindered you” • 2 Tim. 4:7-8 • “7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.”
