  2. Down Syndrome Video • Watch the following NBC learn clip. • Be prepared to answer the following question: • How is a person with Down Syndrome different from you?

  3. Karyotyping Vocabulary • We are going to be using some new vocabulary today. • Try to match up the new vocabulary words with their definitions. • You have 3 minutes.

  4. Warm Up: • While the laptops are being passed out, complete the Prior Knowledge activity for the Gizmo. • You may not start the Gizmo until your Prior Knowledge is complete and your paper has been stamped.

  5. Karyotyping Gizmo • Log on to www.explorelearning.com and login using the numbered card you received. • We will complete the warm up together.

  6. Karyotyping Gizmo • With your desk partner, complete Activity A. • You have 15 minutes to complete Activity A. • Each partner must complete their own worksheet. • Your worksheet must be stamped before you may move on to another section.

  7. Karyotpying Gizmo • Now move to Activity B. • You have 20 minutes to complete activity B. • Once you have finished, make sure your paper gets stamped. • If you finish before the timer rings, you may start your analysis questions.

  8. Gizmo Analysis Questions • Pass in your Gizmo Worksheets to the center of your row. • You may use your Gizmo to answer the analysis questions. • You have 7 minutes to complete your questions and log off of your computer. • This is an individual and quiet activity. • If you finish early, please start making your flash cards for today.
