  2. What is a digital footprint? • A digital footprint is a trail left by someone’s interactions in a digital environment. A digital environment consists of social networking, talking on the phone, watching television, watching videos online and even sharing files.

  3. Why is Knowing your digital footprint is important? • It is important that others know about you. Depending on how big or small your digital footprint is important because it helps create visibility for yourself online. • It is important that you try and maintain a positive digital footprint rather than a negative digital footprint.

  4. Why Is It Important To Maintain A Positive Digital Footprint? • There are many good advantages that you may be eligible for due to having a positive digital footprint. • Your positive digital footprint may determine whether you receive a job or not. • Some businesses will search for you online to see whether you have a positive digital footprint or a negative one. • If you have a positive digital footprint you are more likely to receive the job.

  5. Why Is it important to not have a negative digital footprint? • It is important not to maintain a negative image for yourself online because some people have been fired for having a negative digital footprint. • Not only will it determine your future career but also how other’s may think of you. • Some things that can cause a negative digital footprint are sharing inappropriate videos/photography, personal information, bad records and much more.

  6. My digital Footprint • I can say that I do have a big digital footprint. Although my digital footprint is big, it is also positive. • I think that my digital footprint is big because my life basically revolves around a digital environment. • I know that I have a positive digital footprint because I am careful about what I say and do online. I am very private and I think that sometimes too much publicity online can be bad. • It is okay to be visible but having people know everything about you should be limited.
