This interactive session focuses on the emotional dimensions of debating contentious issues. Participants will explore a variety of emotional vocabulary and practice identifying and expressing emotions through discussion activities. They will analyze clips silently to suggest appropriate emotions and engage in group activities where they act out emotions and substitute words with synonyms. As a final exercise, groups will select a contentious issue (like the Iraq War or the smoking ban) for a structured debate, using the vocabulary learned throughout the session.
