  1. What do I do if there is an emergency evacuation during a time I am not in class? Character Ed 10/23/12

  2. Step #1: STAY CALM • Remember that panicking never helps anyone.

  3. Step #2: WALK TO THE NEAREST EXIT • Leave the building as soon as possible to keep your self safe. • Walk so that you keep others safe.

  4. Step #3: FIND YOUR HOME ROOM TEACHER • If you are in 6th or 7th grade, your homeroom teacher will wait for you near the front of the building. Walk through the parking lot to the front of the building if you exit a back door. • If you are in 8th grade, your homeroom teacher will be waiting for you at the back of the building. Walk to the back of the building through the parking lot if you exit through the front door. • High school students will meet their 1st period teacher in the back of the school building.

  5. Step #4: Wait for further instructions and stay quiet • Remember to stay with your homeroom. It’s for your safety. • Be quiet so that the adults around you can resolve the situation quickly and without any injuries.
