  9. 2014 Event Topics Hospitality and Tourism Professional Selling Event Participants will assume the role of a service training provider for a hospitality corporation. A large city has contacted you to train hospitality workers in the city. Research indicates that in the past few years visitors feel that many of the hospitality workers are unfriendly and unhelpful. You have been instructed to develop a program to train workers in the hospitality sector to be friendlier and more customer- service oriented. The ultimate goal of the city is to be recognized as one of the most helpful and friendly cities to visit. The city has an airport that services all large cities as well as international travelers. Your city offers travelers hotels to accommodate all budgets, museums, beaches, amusement parks, shopping, and restaurants of all cuisines. You have a meeting scheduled with the head of marketing for the city’s travel bureau to discuss your training plan and the associated costs of implementing the training
  10. 2014 Event Topics Professional Selling Event Participants will assume the role of a sales representative of a major tablet maker. Many school districts are starting to purchase tablets to aid in instruction and reduce textbook expenses. Tablets have gained mainstream popularity in classrooms for their range of capabilities and ease of use. You have a meeting scheduled with a large school district’s purchasing manager to pitch your company's products and price points.

District Career Development Conferences Registration Costs and dates will be set by mid-August Deadline: Jan. 3, 2013 Adjustment Window: Jan. 4-8, 2014 Add competitors for an additional $10.00 (no t-shirts for late registrations) Payment receipt deadline: Jan. 17, 2014 Forms will be turned in on-site Online Testing All districts test during the same window Jan. 10-17, 2014 Proctor registration deadline: Dec. 15, 2013 Dates Specific dates to come soon! Target week: Jan. 23-30, 2014 for all districts.
