NAACP“National Association for the Advancement of Colored People” • NAACP now is an organization in the US who supports the premier advocates for civil rights in their communities campaigning for equal opportunity and conducting voter mobilization. • NAACP was originally formed to stop all of the racism and lynching that was happening towards African Americans.
Time period • The NAACP was founded February 12, 1909. • There has beenmore than half a million members throught out its existence • The NAACP is the oldest and largest organization with recognized grassroots-based civil rights.
Effects on African Americans • African Americans during this time period were suffering from being lynched • Whites were finding unreasonable reasons to act such a harsh way towards African Americans • NAACP was a chance for African Americans to gain the rights that they deserved.
