  1. AnglesTri-anglesQuad-angles You will need your think book.

  2. Review… • An angle is … • Draw an angle with points A, B, C Label the angle ABC or CBA Point to the vertex of the angle. A C B Example There it is. It is point B

  3. Right Angles. • Not just angles that know it all. Ha HaHa. A right angle is an angle that is exactly 90 degrees. It also will form one corner of a square. A right angle is shown by adding that small square to the vertex to show that it is 90 degrees or a square corner. Write this down!!! Draw and label this angle.

  4. Draw a right angle and label it. • Draw and label an angle smaller than a right angle. • Draw and label an angle larger than a right angle.

  5. Discuss… What is a tri… What does tri mean… What is this shape A triangle or tri angle meaning 3 angles. What is a quad… What does quad mean… What is this shape This is a rectangle, but it is also called a quadrangle or quad r angle, meaning 4 angles.

  6. These shapes are also called polygons. What is a polygon? A polygon is a many sided shape. Like a rectangle, square, triangle, quadrangle, trapezoid and many more. Write this down!

  7. A trapezoid, what is that? A trapezoid is a quadrangle (4 angles) with sides that are different lengths. But… one set of sides are parallel. Meaning they will not intersect if they continued forever. Write this down and draw this shape! Parallel sides
