Crystallization Behavior of Model Branched Polyethylenes: Insights and Education
This study explores the crystallization behavior of model branched polyethylenes, emphasizing how substitutions on the polymer backbone influence crystalline structure and melting behavior. By analyzing branched polyethylenes with various side groups, we quantify how the orthorhombic lattice of linear polyethylene accommodates atomic substitutions. This research is pivotal in understanding crystallographic patterns in highly branched polyolefins. Additionally, we integrate educational outreach by involving undergraduate students in hands-on research experiences, fostering the next generation of engineers in polymer science.
