  8. How Our Notebooks Will be Used Right Side Teacher Input/Content • We will do all of our writing on the right side of our notebook. This includes; • Date • Information given in class • Vocabulary • Notes • Investigation Directions • Guiding Questions • Materials List • Hypothesis • Summaries • Data from Experiments Left Side Student Output Creative, colorful, and imaginative! We will reserve the left side of our notebook for: Drawing with labels: Petals Pollinators Leaves Stem Diagrams . & .Graphs

  9. How Our Notebooks Will be Used What else can go on the left side? Date Objective(s): Key Term(s): Notes: This section includes but is not limited to notes (from direct instruction, hands on experiences, videos, readings, research, demonstrations or responses to guided questions), investigative planning as well as to reflect on and discuss your findings and ideas. “I smelled… I felt… I observed…”,“ My results show…”, “The variable I will change is…”, or “I think that because…”.   11. Notebook Rules • No RIPPED OUT pages or torn corners • No DOODLING that doesn’t relate to science • Notebook should be used for SCIENCE CLASS ONLY • All entries must go into the Table of Contents • BE COLORFUL & LOVE YOUR NOTEBOOK

Notebook Rules • An important of part of your notebook is its visual appearance. • The notebook serves as a demonstration of your learning throughout the six weeks. • Your notebook should be neat, every entry should be titled, and every entry must have a date and page number. • Your artistic touch should be visible through out the notebook.

  13. Notebook Grading • Notebooks will be graded after the end of each lab investigation and will count as a TEST GRADE!!!

  17. Getting Started: The Title Page • Your title page should have the following: • A cool title for the notebook: • ex. Science Rocks!! • Your name: • The year: 2012 – 2013 • At least 4 Pictures of Science type stuff
