  4. What is An Interactive Notebook Science Notebook • A interactive notebook (INB) your own personalizedDIARY of learning about science • A portfolio of your work in ONE convenient spot. This is great for studying for upcoming quizzes & test • A great ORGANIZATIONAL tool that gives you permission to be PLAYFUL AND CREATIVE in your responses without "messing up" your notes. • Allows you to be like a REAL SCIENTIST!

  7. Left Side-Right Side: WHICH SIDE? • The Left SIDE “LOVES” student work. This is the side that you can use to show me your creativity. This is the “output” or product side. • The Right side is “RESTRICTED” and contains only information given by Mr. Albro. Nothing else should be placed on the RIGHT SIDE!! The notebook is divided into TWO sections.

LEFT SIDE: YO SIDE • The LEFT SIDE belongs to you. • It contains your warm-up, and your reflection/interpretation of the day’s activity. • On this page you may include diagrams, cartoons, drawings, poems, foldables, etc. • Let your CREATIVITY go wild! These are numbered as ODD PAGES =1, 3, 5, 7,9….

Worms and mushrooms are_________ The TOP of the left side of the page has the title and for example, is the DO NOW. A DO NOW acts as a review or a thinking point for the next lesson and is done before the start of class and should be completed within the first FIVE minutes of class. This is usually on the whiteboard or on PowerPoint. It may be a handout.

  12. LEFT SIDE Your reflection on the day’s activity is placed on the LEFT or OUTPUT side of the notebook. This section acts as a reinforcement for the RIGHT or INPUT side and is referred to as the Science Activity.This side entails hands on, tactile learning. This is what you creatively do! Color is good!

STEP 2 • Create pocket on the inside of the cover and glue in place. • Start with the 1st page after the cover and write a page by following the Author’s page hand out instructions. • Next make two pages titled Table of Contents • The first 5 pages will be reference.
