  3. New Award • IEEE Charles K. Birdsall Award for Contributions to Computational Nuclear and Plasma Sciences • For outstanding contributions in computational nuclear and plasma science, with preference given to areas within the broadest scope of plasma physics encompassing the interaction of charged particles and electromagnetic fields • $2K annually • $30K donation from Ginger Birdsall (up from $20K) to the IEEE Foundation • $20K matching contribution from NPSS • Approved by NPSS (March 2013) • Approved by TABARC (September 2013) • Awaiting BoD Approval (November 2013)

  4. New Award • IEEE Ronald J. Jaszczak Graduate Award • Recognizes an outstanding Graduate Student, Post-doctoral Fellow or Ph.D. level Research Associate in the field of nuclear and medical imaging sciences • Up to $5K/year for up to 3 years (one award every 3 years) • $50K donation from Ron Jaszczak to the IEEE Foundation • $50K matching contribution from NPSS • Selected by a separate Award Committee (appointed by the NPSS President), approved by NPSS Awards Committee and AdCom • Approved by NPSS (August 2013) • Approved by TABARC (September 2013) • Awaiting BoD Approval (November 2103)

  5. Valentine T. JordanovRadiation Instrumentation Travel Grant • AdCom passed a motion last March to: • Increase funding to $1500 for each awardee, with a maximum of $12000 per year. • Remove the requirement that at least one award be given to an applicant from Bulgaria • Allow applicants from both NSS and MIC • Approval letter was sent by Jordanov to the IEEE Foundation • Publicity: • Award will be listed in the TABARC Manual • We can list this as a grant on the NPSS website
