Characteristics • A lake is a large body of fresh water. • Minnesota is known as the land of 10,000 lakes. • Fresh water wetlands are found all over the world or along rivers, lakes or streams. • Fresh waters are used for drinking, and watering crops. • About three quarters of the earths surface is covered with water. • Millions of people live along the river.

  3. Location • The Nile river is the longest river, it’s in Egypt. Its 4,145 miles long, and 6,670 kilometers long. • Fresh water ecosystem’s are found all over the world.

  4. Plant Life • Some plants that live in the ecosystem are, water lettuce, grapevines, cypress, trees, jack-in-the-pulpit, Florida violets, and fungus plant.

  5. Animal life • Some animals that live in the ecosystem are, bobcat, egret, rat snake, Florida gar, warbler, kingfish, squirrel, otter, blue heron, and crayfish.
