Chebucto Community Net In 2002: - Working amidst pressures that did not exist last year -- two other Nova Scotia Community Nets shut down in 2002. - Canada-wide, most community nets are in trouble. Chebucto is an exception.

  4. Growth: New Services Chebucto Community Net In 2002:

  5. New Services: Spam filtering, user -configurable. Chebucto Community Net In 2002: Last year’s wishlist item became this year’s necessity.

  6. New Services: Virus filtering of incoming email. Chebucto Community Net In 2002: Another wishlist item became a necessity.

  7. New Services: Speed and more speed. Chebucto Community Net In 2002: New digital equipment, 56 K dialup and web proxy server make web surfing with Chebucto faster than it’s ever been.

  8. New Services: New and improved Webmail. Chebucto Community Net In 2002: Add-on modules give more features: password change, calendar, task organizer.

  9. New Services: New servers. Chebucto Community Net In 2002: Chebucto’s new equipment hosts databases and dynamic websites.

  10. New Services: New search engine Chebucto Community Net In 2002: Ten times more efficient.

  11. New Services: Customizable realtime online discussion forums for community use. Chebucto Community Net In 2002: From Chebucto Café to organizing community events.

  19. Partnerships with local community groups and local organizations are being forged. Volunteers with Chebucto meet regularly with a wide range of groups always working to help our online and real communities. The need for Chebucto services has never been stronger. As the Internet becomes more hostile, the need for a safe haven online, a local neighbourhood where we all look out for each other grows. Chebucto Community Net In 2002:
