  2. Paragraphs • Trade the paragraph you wrote with someone sitting near you • Read through it and ask yourself: What can be improved? Look for • Transition words • Supporting details • Logical order • Grammar/capitalization/punctuation • Run-on sentences • When you are finished trade papers and talk about the things that could be change. • Make changes and rewrite on piece of paper.

  3. Anna of Byzantium • Look at map inside your book • What do you notice? • Based on the map, what conclusions can you make about the book.

  4. Family tree • What do you see? • Based on the diagram what can you conclude about the book’s characters?

  6. Keeping a Vocab Journal • You will be assigned vocabulary words for each chapter. • In the HW section of you binders you will make an inference chart. • Use clues in the sentence and write down what you think the word means.
