  2. When and where was she born? • She was born on November 11,1744 • She was born in Weymouth, MA.

  3. Early Life • She lived in a small cottage before she got married. • Abigail married John Adams on October 25. • John Adams was a friend of Mary, Abigail’s older sister.

  4. What was her family like? Her children's names were:John Quincy, Charles, Thomas, Abigail (Nabby.) Abigail’s third child, second daughter Susanna, died only at the age of two. Abigail became a grandmother when Nabby’s son was born.

  5. What was she famous for? Abigail Adams was the first woman to be both the wife and the mother of a U.S. President. Abigail was the first lady ever in the White House. Her husband,President John Adams, and the country benefited from her intelligence and her strength. A couple of the letters to her husband offered strong opinions,especially her wishes for a stronger woman's role in their new country.

  6. Other Interesting Information • Abigail became seriously ill and nearly died, a couple weeks before October 28 1818. • Abigail loved to sit by the fireplace and read the books from her father’s home library. • John and Abigail lived in Braintree [now called Quincy] Massachusetts,near Boston.
