  2. Richard "TY" Field Smalley, 11, died on May 13, 2010 in Perkins, Oklahoma. He was born on June 16, 1998 to Kirk and Laura Smalley in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He attended Perkins school where he was in the 6th grade.TY loved to do what all active boys his age liked to do. He loved to hunt, read, and play videogames and baseball, which led to his love of the Cardinals. He was always happy and laughing, and was described as a "real live wire." Ty was a hard worker who loved to take care of his neighbor, and loved his family and friends. lmL TY took his own life at the hands of Bullying. Don’t be a victim like TY.   3. Bullying Definition • Bullying is unwanted, aggressive behavior. The behavior is repeated. • Bullying includes actions such as making threats, spreading rumors, attacking someone physically or verbally, and excluding someone from a group on purpose. Sending someone unwanted text messages, rumors sent by email or posted on social network sites, and embarrassing pictures, videos, websites, or fake profiles. lmL

DROP AN ANONYMOUS NOTE IN THE Bully box if you are afraid to come forward.3. don’t laugh at a bully’s mean jokes.4. say “that wasn’t funny.”5. invite an excluded student to join in an activity.6. listen to a friend who is being bullied.7. encourage a victim to go to a teacher.8. tell the bully to cut it out.9. if you are uncomfortable standing up to the bully, try standing next to the victim.10. find a private moment to tell the victim you sympathize. Sometimes that’s all it takes.

  10. I PledgeFrom this day forward, I promise to respect those around me as well as respect myself. I am somebody, and I can make a difference. I can make another feel loved. I can be the helping hand that leads another back to a path of hope and aspiration. I will not stand silent as others try to spread hatred through my community. Instead, I pledge to lift up these victims, and show them that their life matters. I will be the change, because I am somebody.
