  2. Why? • The purpose of this lab is to investigate the properties of plastics within rapid prototyping • By generating information about the properties of plastics after freezing, we can possibly inform other companies and individuals who work with plastics to make more efficient products

  3. How? • Using 3-D Printers, in the Mechanical Engineering Building, we will make boxes made of different types of plastics. • Measure the properties of the plastics, such as tensile strength • Then place these plastic boxes in a freezer. • Once these boxes are frozen we will measure the properties of the plastic, such as tensile strength • Compare properties before freezing and after

  4. Applications • Improve products that are rapid prototyped • Also improve any device/product made of plastic
