  1. EDM Enhancement for Drill Management

  2. Purpose: • Transition the Navy Reserve from a manual paper-based process to an automated scheduling and mustering workflow process for: • Rescheduled IDTs • Flexible IDTs • Additional IDTs (ATPs, RMPs, Non-Pay, etc) • FHD • IDTs in conjunction with IDTT orders

  3. Advantages: • Electronic submission of requests and online tracking • Provides electronic mustering capabilities if drill is completed in an online connected environment • Capacity to generate reports

  4. Member Capabilities • Create individual IDT requests • Modify/cancel IDT requests • View status of request • Print individual muster sheet

  5. ACCESS: • Via the Electronic Service Record (ESR): • https://www.nsips.nmci.navy.mil

  6. Unit Approving Authority (UAO) • Must be an E-7 or above designated in writing • Unit may have multiple UAOs • Create Individual IDT request • Modify/Cancel/Deny request • Print individual muster sheet • Muster member electronically • Generate reports

  7. Mustering Official (MO) • Any E-6 and above • Print Individual muster sheet • Muster member electronically

  8. Reserve Pay Clerk • Create Individual IDT Request • Review, modify, and approve request • Print Individual muster sheet • Cancel IDT periods pending muster

Unit Approving Official (UAO) Chops Sailor completes IDT request via EDM Approves Member executes drill Disapproves Mustering Official completes muster NSIPS routes to NOSC for processing Musters member via EDM NOSC processes drill for pay Paper IDT muster submitted to RESPAY Prints IDT Muster Sheet PRINTED MUSTER SHEETS SHOULD BE A LAST RESORT AND ONLY USED ON A CASE-BY-CASE BASIS

  12. 1. Access the NSIPS homepage via: https://www.nsips.nmci.navy.mil 2. Click “OK” on the DOD Notice and Consent Banner

  13. 4. If the “Logon” Option is grayed out, it means you either need to create a Self Service account, or you need to unlock your self service account 3. Log into your Member Self-Service Account by clicking on the “Logon” Button To create a new account, click here and follow the steps provided To unlock your account, click here and follow the steps provided

  14. Navigate to the EDM function by clicking on the following options in the left-hand menu: -Employee Self Service -Employee Service Record -Tasks -EDM -EDM Home

  15. 6. The EDM Dashboard allows you to see contact/user information, and your individual IDT requests by category (pending, completed, etc). To submit a new request, click on the “Create New IDT Request” button.

  16. 7. If you receive the above message, click “ok,” then on the “Edit Email Address and Phone Numbers” link so you can select one of your emails as the primary email. Once that is complete, go back and click on “Create New IDT Request”

  17. Enter data in all the requested fields. Remember that only RMPs are authorized for administrative support in the “additional drills” categories. Non pay drills may be used for administrative support as well. Drills may not be submitted for past dates. When finished, click “Submit.”

  20. Access the EDM muster function by navigating through the left-hand menu: -EDM -EDM Muster Report Enter the Sailor’s pertinent information

  21. Unit CO/Designated Representative

  22. Authorizing Officials may access the management functions of EDM by clicking on the following items in the left-hand menu: -EDM -EDM Approver Dashboard This is called the EDM Homepage

  23. 2. From here, AOs may access IDT requests requiring approval, IDTs requiring muster, and IDTs previously approved. To access the specifics of an IDT request, click on the “View Details” button

  24. To approve an IDT request, review all pertinent information and then click on the “Approve” button on the bottom (not shown in this sample) Already approved requests will have a date/time stamp on when the action took place.

  25. To submit an IDT request on the member’s behalf access your EDM Homepage, then click on the “Create New IDT Request for Member” button, then follow the steps in slides 12-18. You will need the Sailor’s SSN. Drills cannot be submitted for past dates
